Objective of the Game:The Amazing Race: Canadian Pre-Confederation Edition is a game in which multiple teams of two or three students compete in a race with one another. Teams strive to arrive first at "pit stops," located at the end of each leg, to avoid coming in last. The clues provided during each leg lead the teams to the next destination or direct them to perform a task. These tasks are performed together or by a single team member. This game has been designed to challenge your ability to collaborate with others, think critically, and solve problems effectively, all the while ‘racing’ our way through the events that lead up to Canadian Confederation.

How we will keep score:A point system is used to determine the ranking of each team at the end of each leg. For example, if there are ten teams playing, the first place team would be awarded 10 points, the second place team would be awarded 9 points, and so on. Sometimes, teams are ranked according to what order they finish a task. Sometimes, teams are ranked according to how well they complete a task (ex. marked with a rubric). We will create a chart to track points. The team with the most points at the end of the race is the winner!

Important details to know:
Your team will each receive a PASSPORT that will, in the end, hold all of the tasks completed during the race. NEATNESS COUNTS! ORGANIZATION IS IMPORTANT! When in doubt, put your work in the passport. When taking a clue from an envelope, make sure you only take ONE! Please return all clues to Miss N - you may not keep them. You may use the online textbook, Miss N’s website, paper clues, your own notes, and other teachers to gain information.
